Video Conversation Scene Script

Writer Names: Sebi, Lukas, Armaan

Actor Names:
1. Sebi
2. Lukas

Title of Video
INT. SHIP CABIN. ANY TIME
Sebi talks to Lukas about money.

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
Maintain your course, helmsman. The captain has requested I report to his office immediately.

ARMAAN THE HELMSMAN
Understood.

Lukas enters the office. Seby waves a scrap of paper in his face.

SEBY
It’s the final scrap of the map! Now I can find the lost treasure of Redbeard!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
And I have another piece of bloody map that I have to piece together… why are we looking for the treasure of Mr. Soulless Ginger Pirate anyway?

SEBY
Because… of the adventure! Because it will be fun! Because we’re pirates and we love finding treasure!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
...and because you want the cash.

SEBI
Well, I want cash too.

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
Lets Split the treasure 50 50, deal?

Sebi
No! I want at least 75%.

ARMAAN THE HELMSMAN
<Off Screen>
I want some too......

LUKAS/SEBY
NO WAY!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
But I did all the work!

SEBI
But I’m the captain! Besides, If I get the treasure I get 75%, but if I die getting it you get 100%, deal?

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
(Evil Grin)
Oh, really, then…

Sebi
But if I die you won't have any treasure left. Cause you’re too scared to get it.

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
I AM AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THIS MISSION AND I CAN PROVE IT! Here, what do you see here?

SEBI
(Sighs)
Our Pirate ship?

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
I see a gigantic sinking disaster WAITING TO HAPPEN. And if you don’t have me onboard it will be a gigantic sinking disaster HAPPENING TO YOU.

Sebi
you just take 25%.

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
Well, I am very sorry, but I am underpaid and overworked, and you are going too far! I have to live as well! And there are quite a few pirate ships in need of a helpful deckhand who WILL PAY 50%! I have no choice but to resign.

SEBY
YOU GET ALL THE CASH YOU DESERVE IN THIS AGREEMENT!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
DO YOU ACCEPT MY BLOODY RESIGNATION OR NOT?!

SEBY
I DO!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
<pauses>. All right. Thank you.

SEBY
(sighs)
You’re not actually doing this to me, are you?

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
I definitely am. And by official record, I never fully sent the SS Phoenix to you, as described in our official employment contract. I am withdrawing my ship from our contract. You are now on my territory, and I am ordering you off immediately.

SEBY
You’re kidding, right?

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
I am abandoning you on this island. The Phoenix leaves at dawn. You have until then to re-instate my employment.

SEBY
Seriously? 50 50?

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
Well… actually… I think I’ll be taking… mmm… 75. At least.

SEBY
THAT WAS NOT THE AGREEMENT!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
I am altering the agreement. Pray I do not alter it any further.

Pulls out flintlock pistol and fires. Smoke comes out of the pistol, but Lukas is not harmed.

Seby
(extreme rage)
What in blazes?

Grabs pistol from seby’s hand and throws it into the sea.

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
I took the liberty of confiscating the gunpowder storage in our armory. However, my sidearm is loaded

SEBY
(throws punch at Lukas)
BASTARD! CHEATING SCOUNDREL!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
Well, maybe I’m feeling generous. Have your map. Perhaps I will be seeing you again, if I happen to end in Davy Jones Locker as well.

SEBY
WEASEL! LYING WEASEL!

LUKAS THE DECKHAND
GET OFF MY SHIP!

SEBY
GLADLY! I HOPE I CAN SEE YOUR FACE WHEN I DRAG HOME THE TREASURE!

PSA Storyboard

PSA Analysis

1. Child Suicide
2. Daniel Gvozden and the Non-Profit SAVE organisation.
3. Know the signs of suicide. Make sure you don't let your friends die.
4. Dramatic and Emotional. Unless there is a celebrity I don't recognize.
5. The PSA is a little long, and there isn't much surprise. If I saw this as a youTube Five-Seconds-to-Skip I wouldn't have seen it. In todays society, it isn't that good. There is also no humor, no shock, and a tiny bit of creativity. The creator has no actual credibility either, in fact.
6. No, I have never known anyone who even thought about committing suicide. But the school-oriented view does affect me a little, as I can relate to the surroundings.

The Heroes Journey - Star Trek: First Contact

1. Hero in an Ordinary World
Picard is in charge of the Enterprise-E, operating on a patrol mission of the Romulan Neutral Zone- which has seen nothing suspicious in the last five years.

2. Call to Adventure
The Borg send a Cube to attack Sector 001, and a fleet of forty starships are sent to protect Earth. The Enterprise-E is a Sovereign-class so it is more than capable of engaging the Cube, and could turn the tables if it joined the battle.

3. Refusal of the Call
Starfleet orders Picard to remain patrolling the Neutral Zone. Picard chooses to follow orders, even though he knows the real reason he can't join the fight is that he was once assimilated into the Borg, and his tactics let the borg destroy an entire fleet of ships at Wolf 359.

4. Meeting the Mentor
Perhaps Lily, from the 21st century, is Picards mentor, for she teaches Picard why he shouldn't waste more Tactical Soldiers on saving the Enterprise, because he is simply sending them to their death, and destroy the Enterprise instead, thereby killing the Borg and saving the timeline.

5. Crossing the Threshold
Picard and the Enterprise-E follow the Borg Sphere back in time to save Earth.

6. Tests, Allies, Enemies
Riker, Picards first officer, discovers Zefram Cochrane, the inventor of warp travel, and tries to recruit him into helping them save earth. Back on the Enterprise-E, the Borg have boarded in Main Engineering, and are assimilating the starship from the inside.

7. Belly of the Whale
Picard enters the transwarp matrix with the Borg Sphere and return to the 22nd century to stop the Sphere before it overtakes the currently primitive Earth.

8. The Road of Trials
First, the Borg assimilate the plasma coolant tanks which were the Enterprises only defense against Borg assimilation. Picard fails miserably, First Officer Data is captured and two Tactical Squads are assimilated. Then, Picard is stranded deep inside the Enterprise and surrounded by Borg. He does better here, and tricks two Borg Drones into the holodeck, and shoots them with a tommy gun from a recreation of the 20th century. Then, the Borg attempt to make a beacon on the Enterprises Navigational Deflector, so Picard, Security Officer Worf, and Helmsman Hawk take an EV suit and detach the Beacon from the Deflector, but Hawk is assimilated and Worf must kill him.

9. The Ultimate Gift
In this case, the gift would be a normal timeline- Zefram Cochrane completes his warp flight just as history should have been.

10. The Road Back
The Enterprise recreates the time travel patterns of the late Borg Sphere, and travel forward in time to the present.

11. Rebirth/Resurrection
Mankinds history has been fixed. The next Borg invasion is not for another six years.

Critique- the Door Scene

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh6UzVZWyP8

After the big switch we received Justin, Grace, and Jacobs door scene. It was a slightly less than detailed, but the text underneath more than made up for that. It seemed to lack several key details- most of the movie was outside ten feet of the door, and the relief scene didn't really seem relieving. The worst part was that we were responsible for making the movie follow the criteria best...

To improve the storyboard, a little artistic clarity would be helpful. Also, the relief scene didn't seem to make any sense, and it didn't connect to the previous scene. However, the eyes and mouth scene was really creative, and the relief scene was funny- if you look in the right place. The shadow was also a great way to build tension and dramatical-ness.

There were lots of great opportunities for camera angles. Most of the storyboard shots were full body shots, except the door handle jiggling scene, so we changed many of them. Sound effects for this movie would be best if they were more dramatic instead of creepy. The running was hardly creepy, so you would need some music that was dramatic, and built tension instead of fear.

You really need a clear storyboard, that is complete. In the last scene, the description said "victim wakes up, but little does she know...", and we had no idea what they meant. We guessed that there should be another person peeking out at the victim as she woke up, but it was hard to shoot as the panel only has a picture of two people diagonal from each other with no background whatsoever.

We need to change the first scene. It was a clever pan of the main character, from feet to head, but since it was from behind it looked like it was from the point of view of a child molester. We will keep the key scene, with the close up of a door handle, because it showed what the victim was trying to do, but it didn't show what was actually around the victim, so it made you wonder what horrible abomination was stalking the victim.
